Mary Lou had a nice new hair cut and had just got her car out of the body shop. More than coincidence? Played in the UWC golf tournament.
Dalbir had a surprise distance birthday under the heaters outside.
Kal/Lavina has a new Tesla but made no commitment to donate $20 per wheel. Also he will have trouble getting in.
Larry attended his mothers 93rd Birthday and she had a fall. But Larry was the good son and did some work around his mother's house. Judy then volunteered Larry to do some work around hers.
Sandra was busy organizing a virtual sales meeting that would normally be held in person. The way of the future.
Kathy had a double celebration for Don's Birthday and Rachel passing the final nursing exam! Pass me a glass of champagne!
Dick reported on the early harvest this year in Saskatchewan. Done in September. Climate change. More than coincidence?
Bill has already taken his auction items to the Riverside Office - you can too! And Happy Birthday Sam!
Marg is learning to walk with Poles and the joke never gets old. Will record how far she has walked for Walktober in metres.

Debbie M. is taking on line courses, went for dinner to Season's and bought a de - boned Turkey from Melinda. Well I'll eat crow.
Peter will be celebrating thanksgiving and grandkids birthday on the same day.
Elena saw her grandson walking in Seattle on-line and goes for walks with three ladies in her neighbourhood who invite her in for wine and/or beer. Judy plans on padding her walktober metres while walking(staggering?) with Elena. More than a coincidence?
Sam celebrated his turn on SAA and his birthday by having a banana. Happy Birthday Sam!🎂
Melinda says good fences make good neighbours and needs one in her yard. Expects Mexico will pay for it.
Bobby is riding his bicycle around the seawall, celebrating three birthdays and getting ready for the Toy Drive which will take the form of a drive by at the Grand Ballroom.
Chris P. watched My Octopus Teacher and did not see any interaction with bag pipes but was moved by the documentary. She chilled at the cabin and her business is going crazy.
Pat sent happy birthday wishes all around and also enjoyed the UWC golf tournament at Mylora.
Amanda had a great walk in the sunshine and has a positive feeling this week. More than a coincidence?
Carolyn complemented Peter on how good a committee organizer he is and how he will be missed on the Richmond Therapeutic Riding Association. Thank goodness he is taking on the Auction Committee!
Joyce had fun at the UWC golf tournament as well.
Debbie T. celebrated Drews birthday by excavating her back yard and shoveling gravel. She also enjoyed My Octopus Teacher. Good news is the return to school so far is going well and people are putting their kids back in school early. 🤞🏻
Judy is missing the delivered meals but not the isolation of quarantine as she is now out and about. Saw Ralph who greeted her with a big smile. Off to Qualicom with friends.
Debbie S. visited family on the island and got to sit in the Starsky and Hutch car. Both sides sanitized immediately. Not to be confused with the Dukes of Hazzard.

Tina Richardson played a very emotional video that showed her son, Sean's courageous battle with leukemia. The diagnoses of course was devastating but Tina adopted a determined fighting mode to do everything she could to save Sean. Initially the cancer went into remission but came back and eventually claimed his life on November 24th 2015. The video has been shown by the Canadian Cancer Foundation at many events and has helped to raise over $3 Million. Tina explained how on Sean's last birthday September 24th, 2015, they reserved the conference room at the hospital and over 200 people attended. It was a tremendous event with a Lego theme. There was lots of cake, candy, and many presents. Sean decided he wanted to give the presents to the patients on the children's oncology ward. He delivered gifts and candy in his wheel chair to every room. Tina wanted to do something to remember and honour Sean's beautiful, kind and generous spirit. So she started "Sean's Gift of Sharing" a toy drive to collect toys for the children who are in the Oncology ward at Children's Hospital. The number of child cancer patients has been increasing so they need more toys and gifts than ever. They hope to deliver over 1,000 gifts this year. Meanderings
In 1721 the first vaccinations occurred against small pox in Boston by taking the pus from one of the pustules and inserting it into an incision in someone who was otherwise healthy. The idea had come from an African born slave name Onesimus who had seen the procedure in Africa. Only 2% of those who had undergone the treatment died from small pox and 15% of those who did not. In 1757 in a small town in England another physician used cow pox and this is considered the beginning of modern vaccination. This also gave rise to the first anti-vaxxers. In May 1980 the world health organization declared that small pox had been eradicated as a result of a determined global vaccination campaign. An estimated 300 million people had died from small pox in the 20th century alone. An estimated 90% of 60 million of the indigenous population in the Americas is said to have died from small pox leaving only about 6 million.
At the end of the 18th century King Carlos IV of Spain organized the first maritime expedition to disseminate vaccination throughout the Spanish Empire. The Royal Philanthropic Vaccine Expedition travelled over three years through central America and the west coast of South American to Manilla and Macao and then back to Spain. PR Committee is working on the email we will send to our usual Gala Auction guests and any one else who may like to bid in a charity auction. Also Bob's daughter Zara is assisting with the promotion of the event on social media and assisting the committee.
