- Message from President Larry: "The annual Rotary President's BBQ is being cancelled so we can support the Richmond Rotary Enchilada Festival (Sept 23). This event is for all 4 Rotary Clubs in Richmond including Rotaract and Ryla. I will be creating a sign up list and also responsible for selling tickets. I will bring tickets and the sign up sheet at our next couple meetings.

- Danny presented 3 Rotary banners from his recent trip. He attended a meeting in Nepal, in New Delhi, India and in Hong Kong. Also, found out why he asked himself "what am I doing here" - he

was up Mt Everest!!

- Deb T had an interesting week with car problems, stolen bikes, chasing water leaks etc. She was however still very cheerful!! Oh, and she is running for School trustee again. Good luck Debbie!

- Chris M posed a very challenging question - what is girl behavior vs boy behavior?

- Dick forgot to to mention that he will be absent on Sept 13 (trip to TO)....

Club Potluck CANCELLED - ALL Richmond ROTARY CLUBS’ Community Mexican Celebration event For September 23 Sunday. More info later.

(Repeat) Important information from Auction Chair John:

Important club decision ahead. Should we try an on line bidding system for our auction v the traditional bid sheet system? On September 6th "Givergy" DID present their system and on September 13th "Auction Tracker" will present their system. On September 20th we will have an open discussion and club vote. The vote and the discussion will be considered by the auction committee in coming to a final decision on Sept 26th. We want all members to have an opportunity for input. Chris M. and Kal will be making lists of the advantages and disadvantages of the two presenters. I am hoping to make arrangements for the two presenters to bring ipads so not only is there a demonstration but also those who are uncertain as to how it works can try it out.

Then the next Auction Meeting will be September 26th at 6:30 pm at the Life Centre on Cambie street. The meeting will be to finalize the decision on the bidding system and assign volunteer positions.(voluntold maybe?) Look forward to seeing you all there and the usual amazing support our club has always shown for this fundraiser.
