Bob enjoyed the progressive dinner and the president elect training zoom meeting. The meeting was particularly good because you could close the screen and take a nap. 😴

Brian was sorry to miss the dinner on Saturday but was with Allison for the Queens University 25 year(?) reunion. They all came back with covid, and she missed her choir concert.
I am busy filling boxes for our move next month and surviving the marital bliss that arises during packing. Went to the Canucks game and the Predators had the Canucks exactly where they wanted them – ahead by 3 goals. Canucks lost in a shootout.
Dalbir questioned Allison’s sobriety the day she married Brain, it is a good thing that she married Brian instead. Dalbir knew the guy, Darrin, who was hit by a bus in New Westminster and died. He was a body builder and tripped when he was getting out of his truck and fell in front of the bus. His family did not find out until the next morning. So, you never know what can happen.
Marg had her last literacy program class. Went to a first nations seminar at Kwantlen with Kathy and others that was interesting.
Mary Lou had a great time in Toronto with daughter Lindsay but could not land in Toronto because of fog. Wow did not know that was possible anymore. 🛫 The trip took 14 hours. It was 23 degrees in Toronto. They went to great restaurants and she worked Monday. Had fun at the Commodore. Has had Oscar two days in a row. Phew.
Peter moved into a house 52 years ago that cost 23,000 to build with a 7 year mortgage at 7% for 7 years. He paid off the loan in the 80s and was mortgage free in 1982. Michael claims he was born that year, but your intrepid editor knows that is “fake news.”
Debbie M.’s first house was purchased with a mortgage at 19 % interest. Her son in law is now off the drugs that are no longer working. Manuel is trying to get into a drug trial drug in the states. His parents are coming here to help out.
Judy finished their house in 1981 and thought they may have to sell because the interest rates were so high. At Grandson’s 3rd birthday he opened presents than the rascal would actually want to play with the presents he had just opened. So, the unwrapping stopped, and the upside is Judy now has a Christmas present for him. Taking her youngest granddaughter shopping and dinner downtown. Judy your youngest granddaughter is 9 years old????? 🤦
Kal thanked everyone for Saturday and sorry about Debbie’s news. A big welcome to Harvey and Kal. KKK – not that, I now know three Kals! Actually 4 but that was Calvin.
Chris M. had 6 trips since she retired and will not be here for two weeks as will be in Victoria. She is just back from Mexico and stayed with Nikki. The Rotary Club there gave her a mug as guest speaker where she talked to them about our club. She went to the village to see the water project we are supporting. Theer is raw sewage going into lake they used for washing etc. but they have clean water now. They are working on a sanitation and septic treatment plant that will make the water 90% clean. They have the second-best climate in the world at 26 degrees and sunny. She has found her mother of the bride dress. She has been melancholy looking at old pictures for use in the Mother of the Bride speech which will be with Papa – definitely a challenge.
Michael said that Bobby and Sanjiv went to England for father in laws funeral. Micheal's Anniversary was on Monday, so they did a road trip to Seattle with dessert at the cheese cake factory. Michael has seen a lot in running the Ball Rooms including the groom riding in on a horse that pooped through the hall and the groom being dropped off in a helicopter. But this week while in the office there was ambulance and police because somehow a bunch of kids had rolled a BMW in the parking lot.
Gordon did not have an exciting a week but he will have to come in person next week because he claims there was spotty audio. Maybe it was the rendition of O’Canada without him?
Elena enjoyed the foundation dinner and hoped to do it again. Celebrated her Husband’s 74th birthday.
Jeanette attended the invocation of Mayor Brodie and Councilors. She has started palates.
Susan will now come in person most Thursdays. Her job has changed because there is no local marketing department at Costco anymore. She now works in the warehouse including training new staff. In better news she is starting a marketing business on the side and her first contract is organizing an event for the Women’s Resource Centre. Glen is well after surgery.
Pat enjoyed the progressive dinner and the Pathways breakfast with 250 people attending. Sad to hear about Dick resigning because she now moves into that slot. Does that mean she will be attending by zoom??????
Joyce enjoyed the progressive dinner. She is heading south to see grand babies in a couple weeks.
Danny woke up early and was here at 6:30. Unfortunately he was waiting outside the Ballroom wondering why the lights were off. He was in Seattle attending a dental conference for points for the renewal of his license.
Melinda loved the progressive dinner and was saddened to hear about Manuel. She had company last week who made cinnamon rolls and organized her cupboards - bonus. She does not drink teas but has two full baskets if anyone wants some. There is a box of chocolates too – yum!
