This is the weekly bulletin for
The Richmond
Sunrise Rotary Club
for Jan 15/2019

Last weeks meeting

Bill told us the background to the Dean Crain award. Dean Crain was a very good friend of Bill and Chris P. He had great challenges in his short life yet he was able to be a living example of a great human being thinking of others before himself. Dalbir summed up Dean's character as someone that lived through and conquered diversity. Debbie M did the award presentation. These are her words:

This year’s award is going to the Yes Man.
Anytime you ask this man to do anything the answer is an immediate yes..
Yes to all the numerous volunteer activities within our club, or offering his home for someone who needs a place to stay or helping strangers finding employment, then there are all the different oddball favours that many people wouldn’t even know how to help with, his answer is always - Yes I will take care of that.
I know from personal experience the extent of commitment to helping within his family friends and community that this man shows everyday is extraordinary. So when I was thinking of how to wrap this up I remembered a quote by Mohammad which said  "A mans true wealth is the good he does in the world",
and the good this man does should make our winner the richest man in the world..
So it is with great honour that I have to present this humanitarian award to our very own:

Tiredness Can Kill

I saw a sign on the side of the road the other day that said, 'Tiredness can kill.' I didn't know that. Last Saturday, I stayed up all night watching Netflix movies. I could have died.

Acute Pain

And there's a reason for this, why men experience pain more acutely than women -- that's because there's always part of a woman's brain thinking about shoes.
