This is the weekly bulletin for
The Richmond
Sunrise Rotary Club
for October 15, 2019

Last weeks meeting

To celebrate Thanksgiving Amanda (amazingly and with a lot of personal time and effort) provided a Thanksgiving surprise packet for everyone. In this packet she had included a thank you card, a thanksgiving sticker, a miniature clothes pin, a cookie, a pen, 3 caramel candies and one Tim Horton Chai Tea.  Thanks Amanda!!!   In addition to Amanda's packets, the tables were colorfully decorated with pumpkins etc. We do have a wonderful social committee!!

Ron introduced our speaker Lisa Cowell (and assistant Cindy McPherson). Lisa spoke about RSCL (Richmond Society for Community Living). RSCL helps more than 1000 people with developmental disabilities each year to participate and contribute fully as valued members in the community. Lisa reminded us that RSCL was the designated "ask" component at our annual auction 2 yrs ago. She told us about the impact of the $30,000 raised at that event. The  funds were used to allow 10 people with disabilities to have their own home for the very first time.  She enthusiastically conveyed the happy feelings those 10 people experienced from this life altering change. She thanked our club for supporting RSCL. For more information go to www.rscl.org. Susan thanked Lisa......
