This is the weekly bulletin for
The Richmond Sunrise Rotary Club
Nov 06/2018
Last weeks meeting

We were treated to breakfast at, and a tour of the new Wilson School of Design KPU (Kwantlen Polytechnic University).....www.kpu.ca
What a fabulous place to learn!! Carolyn started the tour by asking if we knew the difference between Art and Design? She then lead us through some amazing rooms and corridors explaining as we progressed. We saw a room with about 25 JUKI sewing machines, another with about 20 more industrial style machines, a room with 3D printers and a shop area where students were converting a motorcycle over to electric drive. She told us that about 95% of students are employed by, or soon after graduation. President Larry thanked Carolyn and presented her with the "coveted" Rotary pen!!

Sargent At Arms tidbits
(SAA conducted by no-one)

  - Chris B is learning "canning" from instructor Marg. May need some extra help with canning jar inventory control!

 - Chris M had a sad story about losing 12 of her favorite named chickens to a hungry dog! She may need to try to limit the personal attachment that comes with naming them.

 - Could not help but notice that all 3 of our Debbies were absent! They may have been attending a Debbie conference?!?

 - Happy 10TH anniversary Larry and Steve!!

Meanderings

 - Mary Lou mentioned that the bulletin (since Garth) has not been showing on our ClubRunner homepage. Another glitch from the updating and ClubRunner revisions I guess. Thanks to Laine for fixing!!

- Always welcome suggestions for bulletin material, corrections or improvement....

Today's chuckle(s)
Definition of "OLD" (thanks to Kathy for these gems)

   - I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor's permission to join a fitness club and start exercising. I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But, by the time I got my leotards on, the class was over.

  - My memory's not as sharp as it used to be..
Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
