This is the weekly bulletin for
The Richmond
Sunrise Rotary Club
for July 16, 2019

Last weeks meeting

Mary Lou introduced our speaker Jeffrey Golby the CEO of ACTS for water.. ACTS mission: Partnering with Ugandan's to deliver the benefits of clean, safe water: for life. As he stated "it all starts with water". Jeff described one of their projects in Uganda. He talked about a 10 yr old Ugandan boy that Jeff had accompanied on his daily 3 hour treck to fetch water that leaves you sick!  Lack of clean water affects Health, Education, Equality and the Economy. Jeff explained the connection to each. He shared a video that conveyed the joy and celebration of "turning on the taps" for a project started in July 2017 and completed in March 2019. He welcomed any and all support. He invited everyone to their Steveston "Walk for Water" event on Sept 9. For more information go to www.acts.ca   Belinda thanked Jeff for his presentation.
