The Board has decided not to have in person meetings until the earliest September. Also a Small Venue Committee has been formed to consider a venue for our in person meetings that have capacity to hold hybrid meetings.

Elena is retiring from the Board of Directors of Rotary World Help Network and is asking a member to join as our Club was one of the founding members.

Here is Chris Ms ode to Debbie that was not submitted before last weeks publication deadline.

I want to be fit,
Want to go to the gym
Want to have all the energy
To go out on a limb!

I want to run,
Or at least walk really fast
Want to know what I start
I am likely to last.

I want to swim,
To hike and to grove
I want to get up early
And be ready to move.

I’d strive to be,
The calm in a storm
On the coldest days bring
All messages that are warm.

I’d love to look good
In a tight pair of jeans
And with lots of fitness,
Might just have the means!

So I looked all around
I looked light and heavy
Yes, I have it now –
I want to be Debbie!

Contrary to popular belief it is not Bill Gates who has inserted microchips into the Covid vaccine, it is Elon Musk. According to Scientific American Musk's company Neurolink released a video in April showing a monkey playing Pong without any controller. This was achieved with two small chips implanted into the left and right motor cortices of the animal. Each chip has 1,024 hair like electrodes that record the chattering of the individual neurons. Collectively they convey the monkey's intention to quickly move the paddle up or down the screen to return the ball to the opposite side. Everything was done wirelessly with no electronics or dangling wires protruding from the monkey's head.

Did our zoom meetings become much smoother after Debbie and Mary Lou got their vaccines????? Or was it just coincidence???? Perhaps not. 🤖

In honour of our President's Dinner and our retiring and incoming Presidents here are some good ones from other Presidents. Feel free to use any of them Pat.

”Did you ever think that making a speech on economics is a lot like pissing down your leg? It seems hot to you, but it never does to anyone else.” —Lyndon Johnson

“I just received the following wire from my generous Daddy: Dear Jack, Don’t buy a single vote more than is necessary. I’ll be damned if I’m going to pay for a landslide.” —John F. Kennedy, addressing complaints that his father’s money was buying the primary for him.

”My esteem in this country has gone up substantially. It is very nice now when people wave at me, they use all their fingers.” —Jimmy Carter

“When they call the roll in the Senate, the Senators do not know whether to answer ‘present’ or ‘not guilty.'” —Teddy Roosevelt

”In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress.” —John Adams

“Being president is like running a cemetery: you’ve got a lot of people under you and nobody’s listening.” —Bill Clinton

“If I were two faced, would I be wearing this one?” —Abraham Lincoln
