This is the weekly bulletin for
The Richmond Sunrise Rotary Club
August 14/2018
Last weeks meeting

Speaker was Paul Evered (pronounced Ever Red) of the GI Society (Canadian Society of Intestinal Research). Paul provided a very energetic and enlightening presentation about a topic rarely discussed. He characterized his presentation as covering all subjects from the "gum to the bum". On average we each produce about 2 litres of intestinal gas and it does not come out our ears! We need to get our guts in order.... He said that research shows that approximately  60% of Canadians have issues with their "guts".

He was very complimentary of his boss lady "a pit bull with lipstick" and credited her with their societies considerable success. Their website badgut.org receives about 1.5 M visits a month from all over the planet.

Sargent At Arms tidbits
(SAA conducted by Brian)

 - There was some discussion about downsizing, de-cluttering and general household storage issues. Susan has accumulated a lot of "I love you clothes"?. Paul has been in the same house for 40 yrs allowing for many years of acquisitions, most difficult to part with, while Larry described himself as the "opposite of a hoarder".

- Carolyn and Georgina recently participated in a "shore line cleanup project"... Congratulations to both!!

- Georgina is preparing for her Sept 1 move, says it is both sad and exciting!

- Kathy traveled to the recent RWH (Rotary World Help) container loading party with Elena, she enjoyed the trip and the event.

Meanderings

Bruce is back!! Great to see him again, makes us feel organized!!

ClubRunner is a valuable communication tool for Rotary Clubs. It does however require accurate input..... For example Bulletin Speaker information is taken from speaker info entered into ClubRunner by the speaker committee.

It is up to each of us to keep our individual details current. For example if you change e-mail address you need to make the correction in ClubRunner. The weekly bulletin is sent to the address listed in ClubRunner. Birthday and anniversary information shown in the bulletin comes from your info in ClubRunner.

"Today's chuckle" does NOT come from within ClubRunner!!

Today's chuckle (s)

A wife complains to her husband: “Just look at that couple down the road, how lovely they are. He keeps holding her hand, kissing her, holding the door for her, why can’t you do the same?”

The husband: “Are you mad? I barely know that woman!”
