Last weeks meeting
Belinda introduced our speaker - Parm Grewal, the Executive Director of Richmond Multicultural Services (RMCS). She has held this role for some 12 years. She started working with RMCS because of her Grandfathers experience arriving in Canada in 1960. RMCS helps newcomers settle in Canada. Often one of the biggest challenges is finding meaningful employment. They help approximately 5000 clients a year. Ron thanked Parm for her presentation.

- As the meeting fell on Feb 14 there were lots of Happy Valentine greetings and stories. Also lots of Valentine treats on the tables courtesy of President Larry (I think, or was it the social committee?)...
- Auction chair Johnny told us that his first ever meeting at our club was on Valentines day!!
- Debbie S was back from her absence enjoying the warm weather down south. Nice to see that she brought John to the meeting - perhaps she has become accustomed to having a personal driver?!?
- Mary Lou had a rather scary trip to Kelowna - very dedicated to her clients, she could have stayed home!
- Expecting lots of stories this week from Elena, Joyce, and Kathy having returned from the Philippines on Feb 17, 2019.
Meanderings
- Did you know?.... One of the colorful traditions of many Rotary clubs is the exchange of small banners, flags or pennants. Rotarians traveling to distant locations often take banners to exchange at "make up" meetings as a token of friendship.....
- (Repeat) From Pat and Paul: Please send any orders for additional "Rhinestone Cowboy" Auction/Gala tickets you might like to Paul and me, and also, please bring payment owing for the ones we have given you already, to Paul and me on Thursday morning.
