Peachy was at the Victoria Drive where she enjoyed the different cultures, the dancing, and lots of people. She can now walk four laps at the oval. (Yippeee) She enjoyed a hair and face massage.
Jeanette sinusitis is getting better.
Carolyn has found home to be so quiet that she is going to Victoria to see the grandkids for the noise. (You could just move beside a pickleball court.)
Pat was in Palm Springs when it was 117. Made the decision to go golfing and only made 9 holes. She has friends who are doing a tour that includes the fire works, a dock side restaurant, dinner cruise, Victoria, Port Angeles, California and points beyond. Said she would enjoy a tour like that. We may not see Pat until next January. Bon Voyage! ⛴
Elena really enjoyed the Victoria Drive cultural event with two consul generals and officials from the province and the city. There was a big crowd for the event. Her car was broken into. As she was walking to it she notice a police car and the police had caught the guy inside the car.
Joyce had surprise retirement function for a friend who is not interested in retirement so she called the party “welcome to opportunities". The first present was a poetry book.
Garth is going to Whistler.
Debbie S enjoyed the wedding of her son at the gulf of Georgia cannery. The guests could wander away and come back. They served local pizza and ice cream. She is going to her nieces wedding in Ladner. Nichole left for New Zealand. Debbie is heading to Whistler and also has been or is going boating to Pender Island.
Larry celebrated Steve’s 50th and he has many family members and friends who have birthdays over the next week. His Moms youngest sister went into palliative care and so it looks like a whole generation is to be lost in a year.
Melinda was happy for the rain we had. She was going to drive her corvette to the meeting but she would had to move three cars to do so.
Bobby was in Whistler for three or four days and was caught in the rain on a bike ride. He was lucky to have a change of clothes at the condo. He has been working on the garden and a tv on the deck outside. The other house projects are going slowly and the wife keeps nagging and nagging. He is building a dinning room table and a sofa. (Reaaalllly?) He is not prepared to pay $16000 for a sofa.
Dalbir attended a funeral of a 93 year old farmer who also had been raised on the farm. There were pictures of him baling hay before they had a baler. The determination and perseverance was inspiring. He would work on the dairy farm, then drive and work in the mill. After he then went back to the farm to milk the cows. We take for granted the work the farmers do.
Marg attended a party for a 4 year old and another party for a 5 year old. Both were a blast. She had dinners with lots of people she hadn’t seen for a while. She was going to a wedding in Vegas but had trouble getting a flight. She got advice to book through Air Canada vacations. So she did and saved $1,000 and the hotel was included in the price.
Blair’s brother with cancer finished his three weeks of chemo and came to visit without telling his oncologist. Blair picked him up at the airport and stayed with him at Dalbir’s. Had a nice dinner with his brother who is taking the mustang and heading to whistler and back Sunday. Blair is hoping the furniture is arriving soon. (Is this to furnish Dalbir’s garage? Get furnishing tips from Kal to make it a man cave.)
Judy survived driving the Coquihalla and had fun in Penticton with Spencer and family. Travelled down canal with grandkids and beverages. The hardest part is getting off the canal and the tube. (You could end up in Skaha Lake with all the beverages. Now would that be so bad.) The twins remembered she had face planted by trying to out run them. She is off to a fundraiser for Alzheimer’s on Sunday at a Canadians game where she will see some friends she had met with Ralph. Her oldest grandson is 14 and 6 feet tall. (I used to be - both 6 feet tall and 14.)
Debbie M. says Manuel has finished his chemo and fingers are crossed. She went to a concert at UBC farms and her granddaughter was dancing up a storm. She believes she accomplished something with intermittent fasting that no one else had achieved – she gained three pounds. She is in training for the Steveston regatta. (better lose those three pounds before the regatta!).
I intend to sell the plums next year for $6 for a half a dozen instead of giving them away. Lesson learned from the Ladner market where they sold the golden plums in a small basket for $6. Also grandson Harvey put a pebble in an envelope for the tooth fairy as his sister has been getting money for her teeth. The tooth fairy wrote on the envelope nice try. So the next night he put in a honey nut cheerio. Don’t know if that worked.
Kal thanked Dalbir who helped him take ten minutes off his walk around south arm. As the usual hand shake policeman was away (aka Jaffee) Carolyn and Pat did not come and shake his hand. 🫵
Peter's father in law worked at Boeing on Sea Island and before he went to work he milked about 30 cows by hand and again in the evening. Kals mother would come to the farm and bale the hay and get milk for the brood. Peter was away at cabin where he hiked up to high elevation on a mountain overlooking the Tulameen. Saw a couple of deer. It is so quiet at the cabin. He is looking forward to going again.
