for November 05, 2019

Last weeks meeting

     Happy Halloween! Fabulous seasonal decorations by Amanda and her amazing committee... Costumes (of some) had to be seen to be believed!!

     Debbie S presented a cheque to Florence Yau representing the Richmond Women's Resource Center. Florence thanked the club for the generous donation....

     President Sam introduced the speaker, our very own PP Bill Jaffe. Sam said that he had known Bill all his life! AND that Bill often acted like a father to him! It is time for the annual Dean Crane award. Bill gave us an excellent summary of Dean Crane's life based on 5 Ws: Who, What, When, Why and Where.              Bill sent a followup e-mail:  "It is my honour, each year, to assist in the process to select our Annual Dean Crain Humanitarian Award The committee wishes each of you to nominate one, or more, Rotarian who excels in the following virtues:
* Honesty in all things
* Courage in the face of overwhelming odds
* Determination to succeed
* Unwavering integrity
He closed by requesting everyone to nominate at least one Rotarian......
