Last weeks meeting
Mary Lou introduced our speaker Matt Pitcairn, CEO of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce. Matt has been with the Chamber for over 6 years, and CEO for over 3 yrs. He was born in Richmond, currently lives in Tsawassen. Matt gave us a brief history of the Chamber from its beginning in 1960. It is a non profit organization completely independent of Government. - Amanda told us an Oxbow Saskatchewan story. She was a recent visitor to a friends place in Oxbow. During her visit, there was a series of lengthy outages due to that recent prairie ice storm. Part way through the longest blackout period a neighbor came to the door offering electricity from his backup generator. This offer included the necessary extension cord AND electric heaters to keep them warm!! Makes us proud to be from Saskatchewan - doesn't it Amanda?!?!

- Melinda expects to be in her new home by her birthday (Brian wondered which year?)
- Lots of comments about live theater, musical performances and general season entertainment options...

Since our regular meeting is cancelled, I booked a breakfast at 7:00 am at Harold's Bistro in the Sheraton Airport Hotel (7551 Westminster Highway) under my name. Everyone will just order off the menu. Hope to see some of you there!
