Max is enjoying school as he has only four classes this semester system. The school football team plays Saturday in West Vancouver.
Garth took the week off from office work and went to Whistler to do some work on his unit. He also golfed three times. He urges everyone to give blood and/or platelets as he has done up to a few hundred times. As Pete pointed not often is it the lawyer giving blood. 🧛
Michael went with the Ballroom staff, bowling and then a pizza and Church’s chicken picnic. Max came for the bowling. Also celebrated Mom’s 78th birthday. He is back watching Netflex - Queen of South. The Halloween Breakfast theme for dress up is either next week or the week after – to be clarified at some point – perhaps next week – perhaps not. 👻
Peachey was sorry she was late as she woke up at 6 o’clock not sure if she had anywhere to go this morning. Glad she made it though – so are we. She has two friends running for councilors and is helping them with fundraising. She spoke to care givers in Richmond in the campaign. She has 46 care givers, 23 who are RNs. and they are waiting for patients.
Jeanette has filed her application for membership and looking forward to joining the club and we are looking forward to it too!
Sandra is off to Palm Springs for the annual mother daughter trip for the first time since Covid. She also actually stood in line for the first time, to vote in the advance poll.
I had my wallet stolen at the golf course. Don’t leave your valuables unattended. Off to Hawaii for two weeks. Thanks to Chris M. and Gordon for taking the notes while I am away.
Bobby had lots of turkey left over so he has been eating turkey salad and paninis. He also was with the staff bowling and pizza night. Also celebrated Mom’s birthday. Is not watching Narcos on Netflix.
Dick opined on international news and thought Alex Jones should be in jail. Had his eyes tested and he cannot see out of his right eye. Hopefully Barb has recovered from her cataract surgery.
Sam would have attended in person had known Melinda was going to speak German. (You had to be there to get the reference.) Sam now has business cards and will bring them next week.
Susan enjoyed a quiet thanksgiving with family. She is taking a couple days of to go to the Arts BC conference. She thanked the Club for the use of our tent for the Arts Market which is 11 – 2 but I did not get the date but there will be artists selling things.
Debbie S. has to drop John off and pick him up after his colonoscopy- so attending by zoom today – details to follow - of the colonoscopy that is. She bought a new car an Audi fully electric that will be delivered in a year and a half.
Debbie T. claims we know what she was doing this last week. But does Drew????? Emotional last meeting as two trustees are leaving. All were presented with paddles with different characters on them. Hers was a bear for leading with courage and in particular working with the diversity and inclusion issue. She is still looking after her son’s puppy who is a little demon ripping things apart. Son will hear about it on his return. 🤬
Pat enjoyed the sun rise this morning and had a nice thanksgiving. She had lunch at the Flying Beaver and saw a lot of flights coming and going. She had book club and bowling yesterday which she said was not so good. A bit of a gutter ball it sounded like.
Dalbir went to the wedding of Dale Badh’s daughter whose family are old school Sikhs, but this wedding was anything but old school. The wedding was in a terrace so you could see the mountains. The reception was in the Fairmont hotel, and it used to be unheard of to wear traditional clothing and now everyone is decked out in whatever. Had thanksgiving with Blair on Monday and Kal’s Mom and got a great picture of her with great grandchildren.
Blair had a great thanksgiving on Monday with turkey, ham, and Dalbir. He spent the weekend in Kelowna to watch his grandson who could not play hockey because of his injury. Also has been travelling to Alberta for work.
Bob had turkey for thanksgiving and his kids actually helped with the meal he has video evidence. His last hike is Saturday to the light house at Stanley Park. On Tuesday he booked a super cheap cruise for 85% off. I don’t think he read the fine print. Kal is going to row him across the south arm of the Fraser to Ladner for a burger and fries at Sharkey’s. 🍔🍺
Mary Lou had a trip of a lifetime in Italy as a friend in Florence organized the trip that was seamless, and they only booked accommodation. The trip including Fresco painting, cooking, and wine tasting. Travelled through Tuscany to Sicily. In Lucca they watched a parade in candlelight with half the town in the parade. There is no bad wine or food in Italy.
Judy went to a lake in Washington for thanksgiving with family. They sat outside till midnight around the campfire. The kids were in and out of lake swimming and paddle boarding followed by family games. Thankful for thanksgiving.
Debbie M. could not find Malcolm’s name on the ballot, so she had to vote for someone else. Granddaughter started walking 5 days before their trip to Spain where they got sick. Manuel was so happy to see his family in Spain. He was like a different person. They travelled to Portugal and then for a week in London with cousins. When visiting granddaughter, Debbie has to remember to say hi to daughter Samia.
Kal as at the same wedding as Dalbir and 7 of ten at his table were Kals. Have you ever been in a room full of Johns?
Marg had a fabulous time at Lake Louise apart from those who caught covid. Thanks to Melinda they had a turkey dinner. Saw Peter Pan Goes Wrong where the audience can scream at the cast. Not entirely her cup of tea. Had a great dinner at the Hidden Gem café.
Chris B. spoke so quickly I did not get it all but somethings else don’t forget to vote, after election there is a party to see the results.
Peter’s granddaughter played four soccer games. She only allowed one goal and won the gold medal. Grandson played as well and hopefully had fun. Pete’s son turned 50 and they had a nice dinner at Cincin.
Melinda is grandma again and it is third girl of 8 lbs with no name yet. The others are fighting over the baby. Melinda’s heart is happy. John’s eye is open, and he is doing well. In follow up the margins look good and hopefully the cancer is gone. The ordeal had been tough on John and his care giver. She has had the kids all week John gets both of them this morning.
