Our club is joining with other clubs to award a Richmond external Paul Harris award in March of 2022. So start thinking of a deserving recipient.
World Polio Day is October 24th.
The club AGM will be on November 4th . Nomination forms for executive positions coming out shortly.
There will be no meeting on November 11th, recognizing Remembrance Day.
The Lower Mainland Foundation dinner/event will be held on February 5th 2022 – more details will follow.

QR Codes for the poinsettia sales will be sent and can be sent to friends and family. The sales have raised $4,774 so far.
Wear a funny hat for the October 28th meeting in anticipation of Halloween.
This years Christmas Social will be a lunch at the Ghirra's held on the day of the poinsettia pick up. Further details to follow.

sergeant At Arms Tidbits
Mary Lou participated in the Wet Walk for Binners, there were Rotoracts there who not surprisingly had nice things to say about Sam. Planning a trip to Italy in September 2022.
Debbie S. says planning a trip is more enjoyable then the trip itself according to nonpeer reviewed research. November is her planned trip to Palm Springs so she has already had all the fun. Celebrated her mom's 89th birthday.
Joyce is off to New York soon with son, daughter-in-law and a busy itinerary. She apparently did not do the planning - what's the joy in that?
John brought his friend Groucho and granddaughter Zoe.
Dick now knows he will have more fun planning a trip that he won't go on.
Elena enjoyed the walk and is proud of the Philippina Nobel Prize winner.
Gord reported that today is apple day - Thanks Ron. Apparently if you throw an apple at a lady and she catches it you are automatically married. Huh - what if she throws it back at your head?
Debbie T. went to the football game, husband forgot his phone don't know what the solution was, however had to return her purse to the car. Only transparent carry bags allowed. Enjoyed the walk on Sunday.
Danny went to Burnaby Lake to take pictures of the fall colours and then had his Tai Chi practice at the lake.
Carolyn went for dinner at Umberto's and the place was packed on a Wednesday. The plexiglass on both sides was great because she could hear the conversation above the buzz. Took her granddaughter to the Van Gogh exhibit.
Dalbir was at Whistler where it is very busy and make dinner reservations early if you want a seat. He is off to Palm Springs soon and then Maui. Have fun planning your trip.
Sam does need his Daddy and was infecting Catholic Schools with something. But not with Bill.
Garth watched Yellowstone? Then off to see Dune and James Bond.
Brian was actually at a meeting. Dad had a stroke and thankfully okay. In Laws came to visit for three weeks which Brian managed to survive by being in a bonspiel for a week in Quesnel. Missed playing in the Nationals by one game.
Judy enjoyed watching her grandsons play hockey although the twins are at the age where they skate like an unoiled tinman. Looking forward to finally travelling to Birch Bay.
Debbie M. is winding things up at work and is having her surgery on Monday.
Kal expressed some turban pride at the Sikhs who used their turbans to save a drowning life.

Bob said all the restaurants were packed - don't know where. Couldn't hear anything more than what Bill said.
Rob Madsen said it was weird and rewarding to see basically the same club members as were members years ago. I think he said 2001.
Chris M. is working on the get fit in retirement plan and doing dog yoga. Apparently you do yoga with the dog climbing onto you.
Bobby had a couple of good runs this week.
Melinda who did a great job running the meeting for the first time was concerned about John who was ill last week. Went to the pumpkin patch in the freezing rain with kids who stuck to it.

Rob Madsen came to speak to us about Mini Storage - No wait. He spoke to us of setting goals, learning from others, having fun, passion, being positive, and just doing it. Rob left YVR in 2001 to work in the mini storage business. His approach to goal setting and passion at work led to many successes both at YVR and mini storage. He stressed the importance of setting goals and then passionately working to achieve those goals. He talked about his days in high school and a spontaneous trip to see the last space shuttle lift off. He has enjoyed working in the family business and helped it to assemble a large land holding. He enjoys helping the team at work. He spoke of travelling to an electronics show and appreciating the creativity of the participants to develop the unique products that were on display.
