Susan recovering from her broken elbow and like many had a quiet Halloween. She is looking forward to coming to a Thursday meeting in person.
Elena had a quiet Halloween which was appreciated by her husband who got to eat the left over candies. I understood she was helping to organizing a parade for human rights in the Philippines and supporting a human rights lawyer and who also acts for women abused by their husbands. At the moment there are 40 cars and they will wear pink shirts. The parade is November 14th and starts in Vancouver and end in South Arm park.
Gordon saw a busy Steveston Village on Halloween and credits the marketing done by retailers. Bemoans that kids no longer doing trick or treating and just expect the treat. Gordon has had his flu shot and always in the left arm. Even though left handed.
Dick bemoans no kids came but even worse, no left over candies. Vaccination issues never go away as Quebec and Ontario have backed away from their mandates.
Mary Lou so much fun with Oscar's first chocolate bar on Halloween. Now lives in a neighbourhood that is decked out for Halloween and the parents dress up too.
Bobby was without his keys this morning - oops - we forgive you. He had a nice anniversary celebration down town. Daughter who recently graduated is starting work at Translink.

Peter drove for the cancer society for the first time from Richmond to cancer centre with the traffic a gong show at 10th avenue. Client was happy and a rewarding experience for Peter because it took the anxiety out of the trip for the client.
Marg's social life is picking up with hockey and ballet.
Debbie M. thanked everyone for the response to the poinsettia drive and the foundation fundraiser. However less than half the club has participated so far so please order. The proceeds will be shared with half to club and half to the foundation. So please order this week. Debbie is out for lunch today and living large. Got to visit with grand daughter
Judy watched the grandsons get dressed for Halloween. After trick or treating, the boys spent an hour organizing and sorting and trading candy. Saturday youngest grandson turning 2. She is going to Birch Bay for first time in almost two years and will be emotional.
Dalbir showing nice legs and said he will be MIA for a couple weeks as off to Palm Springs and then to Maui.
Bob had four kids for Halloween. Our president-elect-elect.
Sandra had a good turn out last Halloween and this year a lot more.
Brian says Adam is 10 and not yet given up Santa but saw elf on a shelve and proclaimed that his whole life is a lie. Good weekend in Kamloops as Meredith won gold this year for the under 20 curling and is playing in nationals in Saskatoon.
Christine M. is so jealous as only had 4 kids on Halloween and was not at school to enjoy that excitement. Was glad to hear the event is alive and well. Busy social schedule with a meal at Seasons in the Park, Nightingales, and sons for dinner which will be the best meal.
For Debbie T. Halloween started at walktober with the dogs decorated. Decorated the cul-de-sac and let off some fire works(🤐 shh!). Hot chocolate and tons of kids came. Baby Yoda was best costume.
Melinda's Botswana family had trick or treat for the first time. Willow would tell a joke after she got the treat. What do ghosts eat? Booberries. Willow also made sure her sister got candy.
Bill reported that 12 people have nominated25 people for Dean Crain. Sam and family leaving for Maui for Shelly's 60th. I think the trip includes Bill.
John provided an update on his prostate and squash playing. Started the squash season 1 - 5. Will provide updates on the prostate as they occur.
Carolyn has Halloween all figured out. She first buys candy in September and eats it all so she has to buy more in October. She said something about a double gin appointment. It may have had something to do with Malaria. One of the Peace Fellows recipients were screened by our district. Thanks to Marg and Joyce for screening. One Peace Fellow is in Afghanistan. He is being kept track of as he is in hiding. Gloria is working to get support for him to come to Canada. We won the lottery living in Canada and eating candy when in Afghanistan families are begging for scraps of bread outside of a bakery - devastating. Her retirement has not lasted long as she is with the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, KPU and our treasurer.
Garth will buy a poinsettia even though he is going to Mexico for Christmas. Was in Whistler which was lovely and with the snow it will hopefully open on the 25th. Gobsmacked that Ontario and Quebec backed of the mandate. Chor Leone is starting up with streaming and concerts this month.
Pat had no kids on Halloween and does not even buy candy anymore. She has not been seeing grandchildren who are busy in hockey and volleyball. Granddaughter made school team and made the provincials but has to wear sporty clothes all the time to school and cannot doll up.
Garth stands to applause to conduct the AGM. The meeting was called to order at 7:48 to declare we have a quorum and approval from Jaffe junior for all of the agenda items.
Our amazing treasurer presented financial reports as at June 30th 2021 that shows the projects we supported and donations we made through the year. The report is contained in the email to you from Carolyn. Highlights are that we fundraised $35,000 this year. We contributed nearly $46,000 locally and around the world. Thanks for the great report. The Club adopted the report.

Melinda reported that the projects committee still had a small amount to give away. A lot of discussion about the scholarships for high schools and it was agreed to reduce the amount for scholarships to $1,000.

A couple were in a busy shopping centre just before Christmas. The wife suddenly noticed that her husband was missing and as they had a lot to do, so she called him on the mobile. The wife said " Where are you, you know we have lots to do." He said "You remember the jewellers we went into about 10 years ago, and you fell in love with that diamond necklace. I could not afford it at the time and I said that one day I would get it for you?" Little tears started to flow down her cheek and she got all choked up. "Yes, I do remember that shop" she replied. "Well I'm in the pub next to that."
