Kal went to watch a Seahawks practice and decided to take on Bobby Wagner, linebacker in a one on one drill. Result broken ankle and 4 weeks on crutches. No chasing Lavina.
Larry is really busy at work not covid related. Is renovating walk in closet and reorganizing his 80 pairs of shoes. His mother is not doing well and the family is gathering in Toronto. All members are sorry to hear about Larry's Mom and recognize how difficult a time it is.
Dalbir reports that EY has sent employees home again with the 2nd wave of covid.
Judy can still see Ralph even with the new restrictions.
Garth had a zoom rehearsal and anyone on zoom must respond so the administrator can tell someone is actually there.
Sandra's daughter had her 30th but no get together. First time nurses have worked out doors since WW II.
Bill keeps his TV on the border cam. Checking on the progress of the wall. He is making Sam pay for it. Also stole Sam's joke.
Debbie M. has witnessed Kal chasing Lavina that may have been posted on Youtube.
Also nervous about showing houses as tenant had Covid. Too close for comfort.
Peter expressed his condolences to the US.
Susan expressed her congratulations to all, thanked the Ghirras. Urged everyone to follow the health guidelines and take care. Costco is tightening up.
Brian is covid curling, or at least one of the curlers was. Fortunately does not appear to be a spreading event. Apparently a person is most infectious for the two days prior to onset of symptoms.
Marg expressed her congrats to new board thanks to Ghirras and having her carpal tunnel surgery Monday.
Sam is baking safely and Bill stole his joke. I did not get it down in my notes and as everyone was on mute so nobody laughed.
Gordon congratulated the butter chicken winners.
Ron now has his new Ipad, watched the Masters and can hardly wait until his gets a hole in one.
Bobby congratulated Dalbir on the Prolix Award. The women in his family are dealing with the Covid stress by padding the Visa bill. Deliveries keep interrupting his afternoon nap.

Deb T. reports that Drew is finally getting hip replacement on December 9th. Although she is receiving notices about exposures there has been no spread and confirms that masks do work.
Kathy is getting her pace maker replaced? I think, or her car which apparently had some carbon stuck in the gas line? Anyway the car died and had to be towed.
Micheal is addicted to Pablo Escobar or perhaps his product or maybe on Netflix. In the 80th episode of 166.
Elena continues to enjoy her morning walk. Elena did a presentation of the Rotary World Help Network for the Peace Arch Peninsula Rotary Club and is scheduled to make presentations until March 2021.
King Richard aka Dick, spoke of the winter of our discontent. But is Richard at his complex.

Mary Lou is very happy to have a 92 lb. dog. Vet says dog is overweight so need to work on diet.
Debbie S. reported that her Dad's surgery went well and that he achieved his first goal by passing gas. We all know what comes next.

Today we awarded two external Paul Harris Fellow Awards that were very much deserved.
Eleanore Matthew has been volunteering her time and skills for years. She was always the Manager of her son's hockey teams and spent many hours helping to organize the Richmond Minor Hockey Christmas Tournament. She bakes cookies that she gives away(but not to me -- yet) and has an amazing Halloween display. She is the consummate accounting professional working with dedication and integrity. She has been attending and contributing to our auction for years. More particularly, for the last two years she has made a vital contribution to our Auction by working long hours to help implement or on line bidding for the 2019 auction and our 2020 campaign. Thank you Eleanore.
Pardeep Dhinjal and his wife Surjit have been supporting Richmond Society for Community living since their child was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome. They raised $100,000 for the Society through their own efforts. As an example of their generosity, Pardeep is in construction and when paid his management fee he returned with a charitable donation receipt as he had contributed his fee to the Society. Well deserved Pardeep.

The last fully intact ice shelf in Canada collapsed into the arctic ocean this summer. Located in the territory of Nunavit, the Milne Ice Shelf lost 80 square miles of ice - 40% of its area - in just two days.
Yoga helps your brain to grow. Before and after brain scans of subjects practicing yoga showed that the parts of the brain related to memory, higher order cognition, and connectivity grew in volume. These are the areas of the brain that shrink most with aging. Further study is needed to determine if just yoga works or other exercises show the same results. The moral of the story is participate in Walktober every day!!!!

Reaching the end of a job interview, the HR manager asked the young engineer fresh out of university, “And what starting salary were you looking for?”
The engineer said, “In the neighborhood of $100,000 a year, depending on the benefits package.”
The HR Manager said, “Well, what would you say to a package of $200,000 a year, 5 weeks of vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary and a company car leased every 2 years – say, a Mercedes?”
The engineer sat up straight and said, “Wow!!! Are you joking?”
And the HR Manager said, “Of course…but you started it.”
