President Sam thanked the outgoing board with individually appropriate beverages or possibly something else.
Thanks to the Ghirra's for providing the venue and the continental breakfast this week.
Please direct any questions to me or a board member of your choosing and we will discuss any and all questions or concerns during our board meeting.
Stay safe and wash your hands.
Visitors
The Jaffe Bubble and Maddie Pugh. It was a pleasure so see them all and in particular the comments from the J. bubble, bubble, toil and trouble.
Sergeant At Arms Tidbits
Sergeant at Arms today was dedicated to our young but mature outgoing president Sam Jaffe.
Kathy on Zoom thanked Sam for arranging the least demanding four months for the Treasurer ever,
Danny brought us the tragic news of the death of his sister from Covid 19. You have the sincere condolences of the club Danny.
Garth's office IT systems crashed. Claims it was not Covid related. Inspector Clouseau is investigating.
Dalbir had nothing good to say about Sam except "Captain my Captain".
Joyce and Carolyn presented Sam with a dancing pile of poop, a graduation mortar board and the honourary degree of "Rotaris Presidentis". Well earned. But he was not allowed to keep the poop. They say covid 19 is detectable in sewage now. Safety Tip?
Ron thought that Sam, much like himself, got better with age.
Marg thought Sam did a great job in spite of Bill(a thought shared by many). But thanks Bill anyway.
Chris P. recited an Acronymic Poem
Chris B. recited a poem in free verse.
Judy recited a poem that actually rhymed that is worth repeating under the speakers section of this weekly rag. The clubs sentiments could not be expressed better.

Meanderings
The first Civil Rights Act in the US was enacted in April 1866 and vetoed by then President Andrew Johnson who had been Lincoln's vice president. (and we know what happened to him - Lincoln that is). However the Act was not ratified until 1870 after the passage of the 14th amendment which was intended to protect citizenship rights and grant equal protection under the law. Sadly it took over 100 years before the Courts used it in any significant way to protect minorities in the US and in particular it's black citizens.
A smile is a window through which you can see if the heart is home.

Today's Chuckle
While taking a clinical history from an elderly patient, I asked, “How’s your love life?” “I don’t know,” he said. “I’ll ask my wife.” He got up, walked into the hallway where his wife was sitting, and shouted, “Hey, the doctor wants to know if we still have sex.” His wife shouted back, “No, the only thing we have is Medicare and Blue Cross.”
