Last weeks meeting
Mary Lou introduced our speaker Jacqueline Wong. Jacqueline began her connection with Rotary in 2006 at 16 yrs old, when she was chosen to attend "adventures in citizenship" for a trip to Ottawa. (Georgina P and PDG Gordon were on that selection committee). In that same year Jacqueline attended RYLA South. In 2007 she again attended RYLA South but as a "cabin leader". In 2008 she was at an International RYLA in LA and also attended RYLA north in Prince George. Then in 2011 she was at RYLA "North America". After RYLA she obtained a science degree in audiology. With degree in hand she went to work in Nunavit for a year, visiting many small communities scattered through the territory. She is now in hearing aid business development and covers the 3 western provinces. Working on an MBA too! What a wonderful story from this enthusiastic RYLA participant. Judy thanked Jacqueline for her presentation.

- Debbie M told us about Miles's birthday "milestone" - the half way mark!
- Judy was not to be outdone - Ralph will be older than that as he just turned the big "seven oh".......
- Lots of travelers - Debbie T just back from Mexico, Chris M back from France, Melinda back from Hawaii, Mary Lou back from Toronto... missed someone I expect....
- Amanda had her hair done on Saturday, Ron said that he did too!

- Did you know? The tallest waterfalls in the world are Angel Falls in Venezuela. At 979 m (3,212 ft), they are 19 times taller than the Niagara Falls, or 3 times taller than the Empire State Building.
